LSU Colorguard Auditions
Auditions for the Colorguard take place in April, usually on one of the final Saturdays of the month. All girls interested in being a part of the guard must audition, including returning members. The audition process consists of two parts: a short individual routine prepared by the applicant and an on-the-spot routine taught to those applicants who remain after the individual routine.
To prepare for auditions, the Band Department offers pre-audition workshops. These workshops are free and non-mandatory but all applicants are encouraged to attend one to get an idea of the line's style and to ask questions. Workshop dates are usually announced in February when the audition date is announced.
